SUCCESSFUL OPERATION CONDUCTED AT THE QUITO AIRPORT TO WELCOME OFFICIAL DELEGATIONS ARRIVING IN ECUADOR TO ATTEND THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION CEREMONY

Quito, May 25, 2017. Starting from Tuesday, on the 23rd day of May, , the Mariscal Sucre International Airport in Quito, in coordination with the Presidency of the Republic of Ecuador, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Secretary of Communications, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation , the Police Department and the Armed Forces, has welcomed the 34 foreign delegations – ten of which were led by presidents and heads of state – that arrived in order to attend the inauguration ceremony of the elected President of the Republic of Ecuador Lenín Moreno Garcés for the 2017-2021 term.

Corporación Quiport and the institutions involved included a special operating plan to arrange the 14 official flights that arrived at the general aviation apron of the airport. In addition, logistical arrangements were necessary to receive the delegations that arrived in Quito on commercial flights and transported them from the passenger platform to the Protocol Hall.

After attending the inauguration ceremony of President Lenín Moreno, the delegations started to leave the country and the plan proved successful again until the departure of the President of Bolivia Evo Morales, the last to leave Ecuador on Thursday, May 25.

The successful operation turned out as planned thanks to timely coordination among all the entities involved and the airport personnel, thus making this country proud and demonstrating that Ecuadorian people are capable.

CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY EXECUTIVES LEARNED ABOUT QUIPORT´S SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS

May 9, 2017 – During a visit to the Mariscal Sucre International Airport, the work performed by Corporación Quiport on Corporate Social Responsibility was presented to members of the Ecuadorian Social Responsibility Consortium (“CERES” by its Spanish initials) and to executives of several companies that belong to CERES and who manage similar projects.

A presentation was delivered by Jaime Perez, Quiport’s Environment, Occupational Health, Industrial Security and Social Responsibility Manager, and allowed our visitors to learn about the various programs managed by Quiport such as Reforestation, Labor Data Base, Scholarships, Training, Our Orchard, Carbon Footprint Certification, among others.

During the meeting that took place at the Wyndham Quito Airport Hotel, the visitors and Quiport’s experts talked in depth about some essential Social Responsibility aspects in the Quito Airport and its surroundings. Afterwards, they visited the water treatment plant, the incinerator and the fire extinction station.

The event was attended by officials responsible of corporate social responsibility issues from the following companies: Banco Pichincha, Mutualista Pichincha, Corporación Nacional de Telecomunicaciones, Corporación La Favorita, Holcim, EPMAPS, Repsol, Lundin Gold, Salica, Fundación Esquel, Diners Club and, of course, CERES.

At the end of their visit, the participants were pleasantly impressed with the work performed by Quiport which strengthens its leadership position on corporate social responsibility at a national and regional level.
