Corporate Social Responsibility

For Corporación Quiport, caring for the environment and its high level of social commitment are very important standards of compliance. We present a summary of the activities carried out by our company since 2006.

We protect the environment

  • Continuous environmental monitoring to determine the quality of air, soil, noise and effluent.
  • Monitoring management of Occupational Health, Environment, Industrial Safety and Employment Compliance of commercial operators.
  • Incentive Plan to improve the level of management of and commitment to environmental, health and social responsibility practices of the various companies that operate at Mariscal Sucre International Airport.
  • Monitoring to preserve the existing flora and fauna in the ravines near the airport.
  • Studies carried out to ensure that the habitat is affected as little as possible during construction and operation of the airport.
  • Biological monitoring at the Caraburo plateau to understand the diversity of the area, ecology of the species and their sensitivity; information that is very important for the operation of the airport.
  • Implementation of a strategy to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOX).
  • Mariscal Sucre International Airport has two systems to prevent the direct discharge of contaminated water into the environment – Wastewater Treatment Plant and a rainwater collection system.
  • In 2015, Quito Airport obtained Carbon Footprint Accreditation from Airports Council International./li>

 

We contribute to the development of society

  • Public Consultation and Participation Plan: Allows us to receive opinions and suggestions from the inhabitants of the airport´s area of influence and increase awareness of our activities. 22,252 persons have participated.
  • David Cachago Scholarship Program: We have awarded 799 scholarships since 2006, benefitting children and young people in vulnerable situations.
  • Environmental Education Program: Teaches about biodiversity, environmental awareness, global warming, reforestation and deforestation, among other subjects. 4,127 persons have participated.
  • Organic Garden Program: This enables children to learn about caring for the earth and organic vegetable production. 1,541 children have participated.
  • Recycling Project: Talks on how to recycle in the different activities of the airport. 210 employees have participated.

Corporación Quiport has contracts with security, food, transport, construction, telecommunications, internet and cleaning companies. As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility policies, its favors hiring companies who employ people from the communities surrounding Mariscal Sucre International Airport, thereby becoming an important creator of employment.

Corporación Quiport S.A. does not have collective bargaining agreements with its employees. The company’s activities are performed in a harmonious and stable work environment.

Services Offered

Corporación Quiport S.A. is the concessionaire of the airport service for the city of Quito. Mariscal Sucre International Airport is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

It is located in the Parish of Tababela, S/N vía a Yaruquí, Metropolitan District of Quito.

Fees for regulated airport services are established in Municipal Ordinance 335. (Feb 20, 2016; Tamaño: 3.3 MB)


Monthly Remuneration

The salaries and remunerations paid by Corporación Quiport to its employees and workers are established on the basis of level of education, professional profile and experience. The wage policy of Corporación Quiport is adapted to the parameters of the employment market and strictly complies with the living wage polices of the National Government.
