Through the execution of the Concession Contract, Corporación Quiport S.A. is the exclusive concessionaire of the Quito airport service. Through this contract it agreed to operate and maintain the old Quito Airport and to develop, construct, operate and maintain the New Quito International Airport.
The contract was guaranteed by the Canadian Government, represented by Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).
As part of its contractual obligations, for the 35-year concession period (from 2006 to 2041), Corporación Quiport S.A. agrees to carry out the necessary investments to maintain the contracted level of service.
Subsequently, for the purpose of tailoring the Concession Contract to the provisions of the 2008 Constitution of the Republic, the Strategic Alliance Agreement was executed in August 2010 that restructured the conditions for economic participation in project income.
